Whether the car ignition system is healthy or not directly affects whether the car engine can function. Therefore, we remind all netizens and car owners that in addition to paying attention to the operation of the car’s major parts, don’t ignore the small part of the ignition system! The following are several methods to detect the failure of the ignition system’s low-voltage circuit, and hope to provide help for the majority of netizens in daily maintenance.
1. Honk the horn and turn on the headlights. There is a screwdriver or a wire on the ignition coil “-” terminal to test the fire. If there is no fire, it is an open circuit between the ignition coil’s low-voltage terminal and the ammeter. If the connection post and the wire are not firmly connected or the contact is poor, clean the connection post and tighten the fixing nut; if a certain section of the wire is broken, replace the section of the wire, and the replaced wire should have the same specifications as the original wire.
2, the horn does not sound, the headlight does not turn on. Use a wire to test the fire on the starter terminal. If there is a fire, the fault is that the line between the starter terminal and the ammeter is open; if there is no fire, the fault is that the battery is insufficient or the circuit is faulty. The battery is insufficient and should be charged; the circuit is broken and should be reconnected.
3. Use a screwdriver to test the ignition coil “-” terminal. If there is a fire, test the fire between the movable contact arm of the distributor and the bottom plate. If there is a fire, it is a contact failure. You can use the “platinum sand bar” to polish the contacts and adjust the contact gap to eliminate the failure. If there is no fire, go to the next step.
4. Test the fire at the insulation connection post of the distributor and the distributor shell. If there is no fire, it is the wire break fault between the insulation connection post of the distributor and the “-” connection post of the ignition coil; if there is a fire, it is the insulation support to the The wire between the insulated connection posts has an open circuit failure. If the connection post and the wire are in poor contact and the power is cut off, the connection post and the wire end should be cleaned and tightened; if a certain section of the wire is disconnected, replace the section of wire with the same specification wire.
