The carrier is a porous, heat-resistant solid substance that carries the active component. Since the purifier is installed under the chassis of the car and connected to the exhaust pipe of the engine, the exhaust contains water vapor and is susceptible to corrosion. In order to avoid corrosion, the current shell material is mostly stainless steel containing Ni, Cr or cold-rolled plate with aluminum immersed on the surface. The shape design of the housing requires that the vortex and separation of the air flow through the purifier be reduced as much as possible to prevent the increase of air flow resistance. Special attention should be paid to the shape design of the intake front cone to ensure the uniformity of the intake flow to improve the conversion efficiency and service life. In order to enhance the strength of the shell and prevent deformation, it should be considered to provide concavo-convex reinforcing ribs on the shell.
