How to properly maintain the car in hot weather

The high temperature in summer can easily lead to a series of vehicle safety problems. Good car maintenance habits can avoid traffic accidents caused by motor vehicle parts failure and cause unnecessary personal and property losses. Here are some precautions for car maintenance in summer, so that car owners can still enjoy the fun of driving control in hot weather.

1. Prevent the body from overheating: In summer, the ambient temperature is high, and the engine is prone to overheating. Therefore, in summer, the inspection and maintenance of the engine cooling system should be strengthened, including the water tank, thermostat, water pump, fan, etc., and the cooling water should be filled in time. When the water temperature exceeds 100°C, stop in a cool place to cool down, let the engine run at idle speed, and open the engine hood to facilitate heat dissipation.

2. Anti-battery water loss: In summer, the temperature is high, the water in the battery electrolyte evaporates quickly, the liquid level drops quickly, and even the electrode plate is exposed to the liquid level, causing the battery to lose water and early damage. Therefore, in summer, the liquid level in the battery should be checked frequently, and distilled water should be added in time to ensure the normal liquid level and ensure that the battery is in good working condition.

Three. Anti-braking failure: Brake fluid is easy to evaporate and vaporize in a high temperature environment, forming air resistance in the brake pipeline, and the brake shoes are also easy to ablate, causing brake failure. Therefore, the brake system should be checked and adjusted in time in summer, and the brakes should be parked to ensure good braking performance when going down long slopes; if the brake hub is found to be hot, stop and cool down, but do not pour cold water to prevent the brake hub from rupturing .

4. Anti-tire burst: Summer is the season when tires are relatively easy to burst. The hot weather can easily deform the tires and reduce the tensile strength. As for the tire itself, non-standard air pressure, aging of the tire, weakened performance, or the tire rolling onto a hard metal or other hard objects during the driving process, etc., will cause the car to suddenly burst. Therefore, the tire pressure should be appropriately lowered before leaving the vehicle, and the temperature and pressure of the tires should be checked in time when taking a break during driving. If you find that the tire temperature and pressure are too high, do not deflate or pour cold water, and you should choose a cool place to park; if you are wading, you should wait until the tire temperature is appropriately lowered before wading to prevent early damage to the tire.

V. Poor lubrication prevention: When the temperature is high, the viscosity of the oil will decrease, and the oxidation resistance will deteriorate, resulting in poor lubrication. Therefore, in summer, check the oil quantity and oil quality frequently, and add or replace it in time; clean the oil filter and radiator in time to ensure smooth oil flow and good heat dissipation, and try to avoid overloading the engine.

VI. Damage to the car paint: Although it seems to be lifeless, it is indeed afraid of the sun. Long-term exposure will cause it to wear out and wrinkle. Ordinary beauty waxing has some effects, but because any car wax contains silicon, it will rust the car paint after long-term ultraviolet radiation, leaving a little dark spot. In addition, car wax itself does not have the effect of enhancing hardness and anti-ultraviolet rays, and will quickly lose due to high temperature. Therefore, you should park your car in a cool place when parking.

Seven. Anti-engine deflagration: Summer temperatures are high, and the daily maximum temperature is often above 35℃. The failure rate of the car itself is also greatly increased, and natural deflagration is prone to occur. The engine deflagration due to overheating will increase the wear of the upper cylinder several times. Therefore, it is necessary to thoroughly remove the carbon deposits in the combustion chamber, valve head and other parts before entering the summer to maintain good heat dissipation and normal compression ratio to reduce the possibility of deflagration.
